Reva from Mercury (any pronouns) is a mixed-media collage artist and wordsmith born in Guyana, and raised in New Jersey. Their work primarily began digitally, depicting liminal worlds for their audience to rest their eyes, ears, and hearts. Combining elements of afro-futurism and surrealism, Reva aims to remind black, fat and queer people of their expansiveness. How vital the imagination and play are in the journey to achieving collective liberation. He hopes when people look at his work, they ask themselves “What if we could live like this? what if this was here before? Or what if it exists now, just somewhere far, far away?”  Recently, Reva has expanded into analog collage and approached maximalist fashion through the collage lens. She looks forward to creating more unconventional long-form interdisciplinary projects in the near future!
