Born in 1972 in Lagos, Nigeria, Nyemike Onwuka is a painter who lives and works in Lagos, Nigeria. He got an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Painting from the Federal Polytechnic Auchi in 2002. He studied Character Animation at the Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg in 2007. He explores the dynamicism of eye pencils, liquid latex and oil bars in creating works with extraordinary aesthetic component and depth. In his new body of work, Nyemike has introduced the use of stencil in depicting patterns, words and symbols to tackle the social decadency affecting women and children around the world today.
