Akande Atolani is a documentary photographer based in Ibadan, Nigeria. She has interest and focuses on stories that tell the beauty of human, passion, personality and things happening around them. She loves to tell the unseen stories of humans. She had the opportunity of attending Canon and Lagos Photo Storytelling workshop with Andrew Esiebo in May 2019. She did a series during the workshop titled ‘Frivolity; the new custom’.
The images depict ghetto level of frivolity as the new custom known in the modern society. The irony of the trend is now found hilarious in the society as quite a number of jokes are made with such images on social media and the act is being passed on to new generation unknowingly.
