Bridging cultures and language has driven me to make art as a way of understanding the world — my body, my family, and my beliefs. By telling stories through my art I aim to reach new audiences and share my experiences. As I grew up, I was not aware that I was being raised with two different cultures simultaneously, what I was learning and communicating at home was a world apart from everything around me. I had to learn to manage and understand that I am a mix of both Dominican and American, never fully one. began printmaking in my sophomore year in college, I have done art before then but printmaking was when I understood that my work can hold a significant message.
