A striking and Finely-crafted commentary on the Consequences of Spatial Inequality Within Cities. While this Piece is specific to the structural legacies Of the apartheid TOWN PLANNERS That continue to fracture South African society, it addresses universal issues of social inequality and The notion of privilege. A poignant image That will Resonate with anyone who haS succeeded against all odds armed only with faith and trust in a better life.

I / HG Printmakers fully endorse the work on all levels. The image descriptively portrays the past and current, enhanced by further by the COVID – 19, milieu of the community from which you are from and leading social commentator. The work is enhanced by ‘your unique’ relief printmaking cutting style and skills, HGP certification stamp, on the rear of the print, provides legitimate quality of printing, use of archival materials, it is out of a limited edition as the block was destroyed upon final selection and signing of the edition to ensure the value of the print, no digital reproduction can be produced for commercial value without the consent of co copyright owners, meaning you (artist) and I/HGP (producer).

I am privileged to have artwork of Gary Frier displayed in our home. Visitors are always intrigued by the artistry displayed on our walls. This thought provoking piece depicts an almost optimistic sadness, entrenched in history and the remnants of the Apartheid system in South Africa. As your mind gets lost in the imagery, the social, economic and political ills in South Africa intertwine with the glimmer of hope. This piece displays a faith appeal in the struggle to break through the impregnable walls of injustice. Stirring piece!
