Born in 1994, in Kagera, Tanzania, Liberatha Alibalio is a contemporary textile and multimedia artist working across mediums of fabrics, fibers, dyes and multimedia art. After graduating from the University of Dar es Salaam with a BSc. In Textile Design and Technology (2018), with a passion for art, she started working on visual art and since then she has participated in a number of art workshops and group exhibitions such as Other worldly, The East Africa Art Biennale (2019) at Nafasi art space, Dar es Salaam. In 2020 she joined the Nafasi Art Academy in Dar es Salaam and has participated in several group exhibitions.Growing up in the countryside, nature has always been her muse, she loves storytelling of her current existence and a reflection of her past as a contribution to further conversations and tales, she believes in self narratives for the future history. She lives and works in Dar es Salaam.
