What People Say
African art is functional, it serves a purpose. It’s not a dormant. It’s not a means to collect the largest cheering section. It should be healing, a source a joy.
MOS DEF
I just decided, when someone says you can’t do something. DO MORE OF IT.
FAITH RINGGOLD
Art is a reflection on life. Life isn’t something we can cut and fix. It’s always in a state of flux. I wish that I spoke more languages because I think each language is a window completely.
