As part of the Jamestown Summer Boys series, this image highlights the sons of the Jamestown fishermen (a fishing community in Accra, Ghana) and sets the contrast of their black skin against the vibrant colored environment depicted. Boateng’s work aims to connect the viewer to nature and the beautiful stories of people around us which gives a feeling of nostalgia.

Reginald Boateng is a young visual artist from Accra, Ghana and is a graduate of TV and film production at the Ghana Media School. Using the lens of an iPhone and simple editing techniques, his art practice serves as a tool to tell the story of the environment around him.
