Tochukwu Orazulike is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose work navigates societal complexities through surreal imagery. Known for his ability to blend bliss and struggle, Tochukwu uses a diverse range of materials, including oil, acrylic, and spray paints, on waste materials such as sawdust and processed fabric materials, highlighting the intricate relationship between humans and natural resources. His work not only reflects his technical prowess but also his commitment to raising awareness and inspiring action on critical social and environmental issues. Born in Nigeria in 1996, Tochukwu holds a Higher National Diploma in painting from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu (2019), complemented by a National Diploma in Fine Art. His debut solo exhibition, “The Order of Decay,” was held at Alliance Française de Lagos in 2024. Tochukwu also participated in the Rele Young Contemporaries Artists Residency, where he presented his body of work titled “When you see the Greens” to the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji. He has also participated in significant residencies, including the 1952 Africa Art Residency in Lagos, 2023. His work has garnered attention in prominent group exhibitions like the “SOGAL African Original Contemporary & Modern Art Auction 2023” at the Signature Beyond Art Gallery.
